Biography

Joel's life has taken three distinct career routes - the field of journalism, theater and television.

Currently, Joel is a freelance writer, with articles appearing in regional newspapers and magazines throughout the Midwest. As a personality profiler, Joel has covered diverse celebrities including drag performer Charles Busch, playwright Paul Rudnick, and documentary filmmaker Deborah Dickson. 

During the 90's, Joel was involved in television production. He wrote, produced and/or production managed projects for broadcast television, independent film, industrial video, CD-ROMs, and the internet. Clients included PBS, UPN, HBO and Viacom.

Joel was a theatrical stage manager in the 80's, working at regional theaters across the country. Theaters included The Guthrie Theatre, The Milwaukee Repertory Theater and the Dallas Theater Center.
